The site fees are listed on the Rate Sheet and vary by popularity of the season.
The site fee includes all set up, clean up, wedding coordination, glassware, silverware, plateware, tables, chairs, tablecloths, and five color choices for cloth napkins.
The only other required fee is a housekeeping gratuity which goes directly to the housekeeping staff.
There are only two optional fees.
If you want to rent white plastic chairs for the ceremony, they are $1.50 each.
There is no fee for the lawn ceremony area but there is a $250 fee to use the hillside ceremony area.
There are no other fees.

Whitney’s Inn typically requires a room guarantee when hosting a wedding at our venue. The number of rooms to be guaranteed varies based on the popularity of the season and can be seen shown on the Rate Sheet. Mid-week weddings from Sunday to Thursday do not require any room guarantee.

If it appears that you will not be able fulfill your room guarantee, let us know and we will make every attempt to fill these empty rooms with outside guests. We are usually successful in doing this and you are not required to cover the cost of these rooms if they are booked.

We offer five different styles lodging at the inn. The smallest rooms in the main inn are the Standard Queens. A step up is the Classic room which offers more sitting room than the standard. There are five each of these two style rooms and two of the Classic rooms are just off the main parking lot and are good for guests who can’t handle steps. There are six Luxury King rooms, which are the largest rooms in the main inn and these rooms also have coffee makers, mini fridges, and DVD players. There are three cottages, the Rooftop Cottage, which is on the third floor of the inn, and two standalone cottages. Lastly, there is Liftline Lodge, which houses eight two-room suites. The cottages and suites have gas fireplaces, mini fridges, coffee makers, and microwave ovens.
The 16 guestrooms in the main inn are all based on double occupancy. The cottages and suites are based on quad occupancy. There is a $15 per guest, per night charge for guests exceeding the max occupancy.
You may assign as many or as few guestrooms to individual guests as you would like. Guests can be assigned a room but we still need them to call to make their reservation and provide a credit card
Whitney’s Inn offers 27 guestrooms but for larger weddings, this may not be enough rooms to lodge all of your guests. We also offer the Inn at Jackson, our sister property, just 2 miles from Whitney’s Inn and is a 14 guestroom bed and breakfast. We will reserve as many of these rooms as you like based on availability as a courtesy. You do not need to guarantee these rooms. We can also help you with other lodging options available nearby.
Whitney’s Inn provides all catering services for food and beverage for weddings and our food and beverage license does not allow for outside catering. The one exception to this is desserts, such as a wedding cake, cupcakes, dessert stations, etc. Whitney’s inn can provide these but wedding couples can bring in their own desserts.

Our Event Menu includes a selection of both stationary and passed hors d’oeuvres. The cost of these are not included in the per plate charge and the cost is in the $600-$1,000 range. It is recommended to offer 1-2 stationary hors d’oeuvres and 3-4 passed hors d’oeuvres with 4-6 pieces of passed items suggested per guest. There is not a minimum amount required for hors d’oeuvres.

Unlike many venues, Whitney’s inn does not require that a rehearsal dinner or welcome reception take place with us. However, we do offer menus starting at $20 per person for this and would be happy to host this event as well. We also offer a picnic area and dining room which are great options for hosting a rehearsal dinner during the warmer months.
Although you ultimately decide how your wedding day takes place, we suggest having your cocktail reception in a different location than the dinner reception. We recommend hosting the cocktail reception in the Birches Dining Room with its adjacent pub and flagstone patio. Cocktail receptions typically last for 1 to 1 1/2 hours but this is your decision.
Our Wedding Menus start at $58 per person. We also have a $61 and $65 menu. Each menu allows for two entrees, one starch, one vegetable, salad, rolls, and butter. You can mix and match off of two menus versus having to choose two entrees off of the same menu. The menus are based on a buffet. There is a $4 per plate charge for a plated dinner.
We have done family style receptions but we do not recommend them due to space limitations with placing so many food dishes on the tables.

Unless your group size is over 140 and a wedding tent is required, the only items to be rented are chairs for the ceremony for $ 1.50 each. In the case of a tented wedding reception, the cost of round tables, round tablecloths, lighting, the tent and sides will be about $1,200 to $1,500.

Entertainment is extremely important for a successful wedding and we provide a list of DJs and bands for this purpose. Most professionals will handle the music for the ceremony, cocktail reception, and dinner reception. However, if this is not the case, Whitney’s Inn does have sound systems for any of these functions.

Looking for a Winter wedding but concerned about a cancellation due to a snowstorm? We understand this concern and have some solutions to ease your concerns. When a major storm is coming, you almost always have 3-4 days notice. Your guests will be offered a "storm rate" of $99 per night so they can arrive earlier to avoid any travel problems. If the storm is bad enough that the State of NH declares a state of emergency and the travel is banned, you have the option of rescheduling you wedding at no charge.

Once the contract is signed, there is a 30 day grace period to cancel at no charge. There is a $500 cancellation fee if you cancel after the 30 day grace period and greater than 6 months prior to the event date. If you cancel within 6 months of the event date, all deposits would be forfeited. In a case of cancellations due to changes to the status of military personnel, there is no cancellation charge of any kind.

Jackson, NH and the White Mountain National Forrest provide amazing recreational activities for your guests. Whitney’s Inn has several amenities available to guests including an outdoor heated pool, a 1 acre stocked trout pond with free access to canoes, kayaks, and fishing poles, basketball, horseshoe pits, shuffleboard, and a fire pit. Black Mountain, our next door neighbor, offers downhill skiing in the Winter and horseback riding inn the Summer and Fall. The area offers golfing, fly fishing, kayaking, canoeing, biking, and hiking during warm weather months. Downhill and nordic skiing, snowmobiling, sleigh rides, snow shoeing, and skating are available in the Winter. North Conway, just 10 minutes from Jackson, also offers excellent tax free retail and outlet shopping.

You are welcome to use a wedding planner if you wish but it’s really not necessary. We provide a Wedding Coordinator, who will gather every detail needed for us to host your wedding.

Whitney’s Inn offers two guest rooms in the main inn and two standalone cottages which are dog friendly. There is a $25 per night pet fee.

Our chef is very familiar with food allergies and individual dinners can be prepared for guests who are gluten free, vegetarian, dairy free, etc.

A full country breakfast is offered each morning for Whitney’s guests for $10. There are offerings of omelets, pancakes, French toast, waffles, sausage, and bacon. There is also an option in the contract for the wedding couple to cover the cost of breakfast at a discounted rate of $8 per guest. We also offer a more formal brunch menu for $23 per guest, if interested.

A vendor list is provided for DJs, JPs, ministers, photographers, bakeries, salon services, transportation, rentals, and florists. These are extremely talented local vendors who have been part of multiple weddings with us and come highly recommended. It should be noted that these are not required vendors and you are welcome to bring in your own vendors or perform some of these functions on your own. You will typically find our local vendors to be less expensive than those in other parts of New England.

Once you have determined that Whitney’s Inn is the perfect choice for your wedding day and you have chosen your date, please let us know and we will get a contract out to you right away. Review it and if you have no questions, please sign it, and return to us. We only ask for $1,000 deposit within 7 days of signing the contract and then you’re all set! No other funds are requested until 3 weeks from the wedding.

We do not offer discounted guest rooms for weddings but we do offer special sales during the Spring (Mid March until Mid-May), and Late Fall mid-November to mid-December). These sales offer reduced site fees and other incentives. Check the website for details on these sales.

Whitney’s Inn offers several options for ceremonies but you are not required to have your ceremony at our location. The most popular option, because of the convenience, is our ceremony area off of the front lawn of the main inn. We also have a hillside ceremony area located on Whitney Hill which provides amazing views of the White Mountains. There is a $250 ceremony fee for this area. We are also in the process of building a third area which will be our woodland ceremony area. This will be available in the Summer of 2015. In the event of inclement weather, we offer the Birches Dining Room and the Shovel Handle Pub for indoor options.

We will provide you with a floor plan for the Shovel Handle Pub along with dimensions for all of the tables.

Whitney’s Inn has a minimum of 80 and a maximum of 200 guests for weddings. We also offer a minimum of 40 guests for mid-week weddings. The Shovel Handle Pub handles 125 guests comfortably but can accommodate up to 140 guests if needed, Weddings for more than 140 guests require a wedding tent for the dinner reception but the pub can still be used for dancing after dinner.

We are happy to provide you with an estimate prior to making your decision to have your wedding with us.

We ask to receive final menu no later than 1 month prior to the event and the final guest count no later than 2 weeks from the event. We ask that no changes be made to the menu or guest count once we are two weeks from the event.

We offer a food tasting at no charge to the wedding couple. Guests may attend at a charge of $20 per guest. We encourage wedding couples to attend one of our two group tastings held each year, one in April and one in November. The group tastings offer a much larger selection to taste and you can see the pub decorated for a wedding and meet local vendors. We also offer individual tastings but you are limited to a maximum of 4 hors d’oeuvres and 4 entrees.

If there is a special beer or wine that you would like us to bring in for the wedding, we will order it for you as long as we can purchase it from our vendors in the state. NH law forbids you from bringing in your own alcohol for the wedding.

A champagne or sparkling wine toast is offered for $3 per glass but is not required.

There is a 8.5% tax on the food but the alcohol is tax inclusive so there is not an additional tax on the booze. There is a 20% gratuity on the food and hosted bar. There is no gratuity applied to a cash bar.

We do not accept credit cards for the final payment but will take a credit card for the $1,000 deposit and any minor charges to be paid after the wedding.

We do not have many rules at Whitney’s Inn. We only ask that we have “last call” no later than 11:30PM and that everyone is out of the pub by midnight. When you start is up to you!

Yes, the Barn at Whitney’s Farm is air conditioned
